1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using CandleSmart ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

CandleSmart is a progressive web application that helps candle makers manage recipes, inventory, production batches, pricing, and Etsy shop listings. The App is provided as-is and may be updated or modified at any time.

3. User Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account. You must be at least 13 years of age to use the App.

4. User Data

You own your data. All recipes, inventory, and settings you create belong to you.
Cloud sync. When signed in, your data is synced to Firebase Cloud Firestore under your unique user account. No other user can access your data.
Community content. When you publish a recipe, its name, wax blend, scents, and intensity are shared publicly in the community feed. Your display name is attached to published recipes.
Data deletion. You can delete your account at any time from Settings. This permanently removes all your data, including Etsy credentials and published recipes.

5. Etsy Integration

The App uses the Etsy Open API v3 to create draft listings on your Etsy shop when you choose to post a candle.
All listings are created as drafts — they are never automatically activated. You must review and activate each listing on Etsy.
We access only the minimum data needed: your shop name, and the ability to create listings. We do not access customer data, orders, or payment information.
You can disconnect your Etsy shop at any time from Settings, which immediately removes your OAuth tokens from our system.

6. Prohibited Use

You agree not to:

Use the App for any unlawful purpose
Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other users' data
Interfere with or disrupt the App's infrastructure
Scrape, copy, or redistribute the App's code or data without permission

7. Intellectual Property

The App's design, code, and content (excluding user data) are owned by the App developer. The term "Etsy" is a trademark of Etsy, Inc. This application uses the Etsy API but is not endorsed or certified by Etsy, Inc.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that calculations (such as wick recommendations, pricing, or cost estimates) will be perfectly accurate. Always verify critical calculations independently.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App (which is currently $0 for all users).

10. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time for conduct that violates these Terms or is harmful to other users or the App itself.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. We will notify users of material changes via the app or email.
